Word Macro Setup

The TeachSpeak macro converts your feedback table into margin comments with a single click. Set it up once and use it forever.

Step 1: Download the Macro

Download the .bas file, then follow the installation steps below.

Download TeachSpeak_Macro.bas

Step 2: Install in Word

Open the VBA Editor

Open any Word document, then press Alt+F11 (Windows) or go to Tools > Macro > Visual Basic Editor (Mac).

Import the Macro File

In the VBA editor, go to File > Import File. Select the TeachSpeak_Macro.bas file you just downloaded. Click Open.

Close the Editor

Close the VBA editor (click X or press Alt+Q). The macro is now ready to use in this document.

Make it Permanent (Optional)

To use the macro in all documents, import it into the "Normal" template instead. In the VBA editor, right-click "Normal" > Insert > Module, then import there.

Step 3: Use the Macro

Every time you want to insert feedback:

1.Open the student's original document in Word
2.Open the TeachSpeak feedback file you downloaded
3.Copy the entire feedback table and paste it at the end of the student's document
4.Click Insert Comments in the Add-Ins tab on the ribbon
5.Comments appear in the margins, table disappears!

Note: The "Insert Comments" button is automatically created in the Add-Ins tab the first time you run the macro. If you don't see it, press Alt+F8, select ConvertTableToComments, and click Run. The button will appear after that first run.

Test with Sample Documents
